Hiked the Mountaineer's Route on September 3rd 2023 and failed to summit from the notch. We knew there was heavy snowfall this year but we didn't expect there to be this much snow coverage in September. We had an ice pick and micro spikes but no crampons. More snow was added from a storm the day before the hike which made conditions pretty icy for the final 400'.
