Follow along with our Living Lent Series: https://www.catholic.org/lent/livingl... Support our mission: https://ycvf.org/ Thank you for continuing this Lenten Journey with us. We are so glad to have you. We're going to reflect on ourselves, and our behavior, on this 13th day of Lent. If we honestly think about it, we tend to judge others a lot. It's a human thing that we do, often without even thinking. But we are not called to be “merely” human, we are called to imitate the Sacred Humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are spiritual and we are asked to strive for this higher calling. Let us ask ourselves these questions: Is it possible we improperly judge others too much? Is there a way we can change our thoughts and behaviors to be less judgmental of others? The Lord gives us the grace to accomplish this. Remember, Jesus promised we would be judged by the standard we use to judge others. I'd like to share this reading from the Gospel of St. Luke chapter 6 verses 33 through 38: ”Jesus said: And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit can you expect? For even sinners do that much. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to get money back, what credit can you expect? Even sinners lend to sinners to get back the same amount. Instead, love your enemies and do good to them, and lend without any hope of return. You will have a great reward, and you will be children of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. 'Be compassionate just as your Father is compassionate. Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and there will be gifts for you: a full measure, pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap; because the standard you use will be the standard used for you.' Let us pray. “Lord, give me courage to honestly examine myself, to look into my heart. Help me to see how I wrongfully judge others and help me to refrain from this in the future. Amen.” Today, my challenge for you is to try to love as Jesus loves. To allow Him to love through you.
