Austin cops assault ANTIFA protesters for using sidewalk

On September 23, 2017, a coalition of activists rallied against white supremacy in Austin, TX. As usual, the police were eager to escalate situations and use violence against those who protest white supremacy. During the short march to the state capitol building, the Austin Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety repeatedly harassed, threatened, and assaulted protesters in an effort to dictate their movement to the capitol. During the march, the police repeatedly demanded that the protesters stay on the sidewalk. Just as the protesters arrived at the capitol grounds, an antifascist saw that the police were also sealing off the sidewalk, so he called them out for their unconstitutional restriction on their legal freedom of movement and he was assaulted as he tried to use the sidewalk. Other ANTIFA were then assaulted when they also tried to use the sidewalk and a pedestrian gate. This incident proves that: 1. The cops did not care whether or not the protesters used the sidewalk or not, they just wanted to control the protesters. 2. That the cops are the ones who ALWAYS bring the violence to ANTIFA and other protesters against racism and police state repression. 3. That the cops who are eager to press bogus charges of "assaulting a peace officer" will NEVER arrest a fellow terrorist pig in blue for assaulting a protester.
