I bought this Sun Joe 10 Ton Manual Log Splitter in May of 2019 from Amazon. It arrived assembled. All I needed to do was insert the handles. After using it for over a year, I give my honest review of this manual log splitter. It works well for my kind of wood - fir, pine and aspen. It splits pecan and oak too, though I find it harder to split those harder woods. The Sun Joe's back wheels are small. I'd like it better if there were larger wheels on it. But I mostly split wood inside my cabin while watching a movie, and on a flat surface, the wheels are fine. But dragging this wood splitter on uneven ground, I'd rather have bigger wheels. The Sun Joe Log Splitter weighs about 100 pounds. It's rated to split wood rounds that are 8 inches wide and as much as 18 inches long. That said, I split wood rounds much wider than that, as wide as 23 inches with this. I've got about a 15 inch wide wood round that I split in this video. Obviously an electric or gas wood splitter will work faster. But I don't like gas - it pollutes the air, must be maintained, is noisy, is heavy and must be used outdoors. An electric wood splitter can be used indoors, but its high pitched whine annoys me. Additionally, to use an electric wood splitter you have to sit or squat and place two hands on the controls. I much prefer standing up, using my hands. Plus, I got the manual Sun Joe wood splitter because in these mountains, sometimes the electricity goes out. But if a manual splitter is not your thing, try an electric one. I'm no spring chicken, but an old gal with maybe 10 to 20 years left in this carcass, if I live a normal life span. I find that this wood splitter is much easier and safer to use than swinging an axe down on a big round of wood.
