Over the last six years I built this woodworking tool chest to house my hand tools. What started as a simple cabinet slowly evolved section by section until every tool had its own dedicated place. In total the project took more than 400 hours of work, spread across many evenings and weekends. In this video I give a full tour of the chest, the tools inside it, and some of the ideas behind the design — including traditional hand planes, measuring tools, saws, auger bits, rasps, files and a few custom tools I built along the way. This project was inspired by the legendary Studley tool chest, although this is simply my own personal interpretation that grew organically over time rather than following a strict plan. Most of the time this channel is about music production, recording and mixing, but this video is a small one-off detour into another passion of mine: woodworking. Many pieces of furniture in my studio were actually built in my workshop using these very tools. Some things just take time to grow — whether it’s learning an instrument, building a piece of furniture, or creating something like this tool chest. I hope you enjoy this little tour. ►Connect with Patrick Damiani and Tidalwave Studio: https://www.tidalwave.de / tidalwavestudio / tidalwave_studios ►Subscribe on YouTube: / @tidalwavestudio #woodworking #handtools #toolchest #woodworkingtools #handtoolwoodworking
