Hi Jaguar lovers and all cars restoration makers and amateurs, here is the episode 7 of my Jaguar 1994 X300 SOVEREIGN 4.0 Litres project. In this video I'm happy to almost finished one side of the car on weldings, let say at 90% done. We dis a patch on a rusted inner wheel arch and welded also some other patches on the outer wheel arch. I started already to repair the other side, driver side as she's an imported Jaguar from UK, at a first look a few month ago I thought the rust treatment and repair would be easier but in fact it's almost worst... You will see that on episode 8... My lovely wife helped me on weldings as she wanated to try, and I can tell trully that she is almost better than me ! Hope you enjoy the video ! Please, share, like and comment, I'm not professional and any advises is very welcome Cheers Timestamps: 00:00 A little surprise on the inner wheel arch 00:15 Let see how big is the rust on inner wheel arch 01:12 Removing bracket from chassis to rear subframe 01:42 Finishing to scratch the rust 01:55 Drilling and cutting the rusted area 03:45 Showing and explaining how to repair the rusted area 04:55 Making a template to cut the steel patch 05:41 Adjusting the new patch for welding 07:00 Welding the new patch on the inner wheel arch 07:51 Another template to finish the patch 08:01 She wanted to weld the new patch on rear inner wheel arch, and she do well 10:20 Starting to work on the outer wheel arch 12:54 Templates, cutting and forming 3 new patches for rear wing 15:50 Welding the 3 patches on the rear wheel arch 17:05 Scratching with belt sander the welded patches on rear wheel arch 17:41 What's next on episode 8 The Jaguar XJ X300 (1994-1997) is a not so popular model for restoration projects, only the XJR become a true expensive collector. She is like the black duck in the Jaguar model range, but it's really a valuable and interresting car. A full restoration project for this vehicle would typically include the following steps: Body work: Repairing rust, dents, and other damage to the body. Paint: Sanding, priming, and repainting the vehicle to the original color or a new color of the owner's choice. In my case I will paint her by myself to her original paint code. Interior: Cleaning, repairing, and reupholstering the interior to restore its original appearance. In the worst cases of course, lucky me mine just need a new headliner, a common issue in the Jaguar XJ range. Mechanical: Rebuilding or replacing the engine, transmission, suspension, and other mechanical components to ensure proper functioning. I'm lucky again as the engine is very good, just need a few gaskets and general cleaning. Electrical: Repairing or replacing electrical components to ensure proper lighting, heating, and air conditioning. Finishing touches: Installing new trim, badges, and other cosmetic elements to complete the restoration. The amount of time and cost required for a restoration project depends on the extent of the work needed and the level of detail desired by the owner. Thanks for watching and any comments would be really appreciated. Cheers
