The servers were shut down, but thanks to Project Verge it's playable again in solo. Also, unlike NFS Rivals, in NFS Edge the softlocks aren't an issue here when you go away from the main roads/paths. But as you go further you'll find yourself unable to steer, accelerate or brake and your car will slide on the terrain (like Rivals). Fortunately, the game comes with a button to reset your car when you need it.
