In this video I show the process of preparing firewood. I split firewood with an axe the way I usually do, using an old chopping block. The video is filmed both from a first-person perspective and from the side so you can clearly see the wood splitting process. At some point I realized that my old chopping block had become uncomfortable to use. Because of that I decided to make a new one. I used a chainsaw to cut a new chopping block from an oak log. I still have a pile of oak firewood that you will also see later in the videos. The new block is thicker and more stable, and splitting firewood has now become much more convenient.
