Multiple orgasms in men is a topic of much interest for the public. Yet there is very little known about it in the scientific literature. Dr. med. Dr. phil. Stefan Buntrock, urologist from Göttingen, explains on UroChannel how male multiple orgasms are defined, what properties these men have and whether it can be learned. Ejaculation seems to play an important role as it triggers a surge in plasma Prolactin levels which seem to be responsible for the refractory period where sexual activity is not possible. That some men are multi-orgasmic is known from the work of Alfred Kinsey among others. But their percentage is quite low. That this is a real phenomenon is known from radical prostatectomy in prostate cancer. Ejaculation is no longer possible for them because the prostate and seminal vesicles have been removed. A very small percentage of patients experience multiple orgasms after the procedure, sometimes also an intensified orgasm.
