Original Super 8 cine film footage shot in 1975, in Charlbury and Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, by Colin Seymour, and featuring students of Chipping Norton School A green and a red bus appear conspicuously in the "Life at School" film. The green bus can be seen to have the registration XUF 144. According to regarchive, this is a pre-1963 registration. A reference to the bus with this registration was found on the Oxford and Chilterns Bus Page: "XUF 144 - Looking rather down at heal and in the colours of Rainbow of Westbury (Bucks), XUF 144 (Southdown 1144) was again new in 1960, again with Heyfordian (1973 to 1979) before Rainbow (1979-1980) and here just acquired by Heritage of Banbury for preservation. Unfortunately another loss as this coach was believed scrapped in the mid-1990's. The location is again Wiggington Heath in August 1980." The red bus number at the top looks like "14C". This is unlikely to be a number in current use, as the numbering system is different now, so that you have bus numbers like "CN01" going to Chipping Norton. The logo on the bus matches that of Oxford South Midland, as can be seen in the Illustrated Fleetlist published in 1975. It appears that the route indicator on the red bus is something of an oddity, and by doing an image search the following references were found on flickr: "DFC602D City of Oxford 2 - AEC Reliance / Duple Commander seen here in NBC DP livery with a rather crudly added destination box." "DFC602D Oxford South Midland 2 - an AEC Reliance / Duple Commander coach downgraded to DP status with an added roof box display." Comparing these images with the ones from the cine film, the registration number DFC602D appears to be a good match so it would appear that these are indeed images of the same bus.
