New Product Discoveries Ep 306: iFixit and TubeDepot

Kevin Walseth, Business Ecosystem Development Manager at Digi-Key Electronics, presents New Product Discoveries. In this video, Kevin introduces a selection of repair tools from iFixit and a sample of TubeDepot’s wide selection of original and reproduction vacuum tubes. iFixit encourages people to repair what is broken by providing access to quality tools and information resources such as manuals and diagrams. Kevin highlights a few tools by iFixit such as the Mako Driver Kit which includes a 4mm aluminum screwdriver handle, a flexible extension, and 64 precision bits, or the Manta kit with 112 bits. An 8 in. x 10 in. magnetic mat to help keep track of small parts is also demonstrated. TubeDepot prides themselves on providing a wide selection of vacuum tube types from a top selection of manufacturers that are well-known in the tube industry, along with a variety of additional products to help fill any new project or rebuild need. Kevin showcases the MU-12AX7, a reproduction of the Mullard 12AX7 and direct replacement tubes such as the EH-6550 which is a perfect match to the Tung-Sol original.
