I started informing smokers about safer smoke-free cigarette substitutes on Good Morning America in June 1994, after the American Journal of the Medical Sciences published my article, "An alternative approach to smoking control." My opponent claimed that no one else in the world was endorsing this idea, and this was true. However, he made other claims that were completely false: 1. "Tobacco is tobacco is tobacco." 2. It is unethical to tell smokers to "trade" lung cancer for mouth cancer. My opponent did perform one good deed. At the end of the video he inadvertently advertised the exact product I was recommending, Skoal Bandits.
