ISRO conducts Gaganyaan's first IADT successfully

India’s first human space mission Gaganyaan has achieved another major milestone! On 24th August 2025, ISRO successfully completed the first **Integrated Air Drop Test (IADT-01) at Sriharikota. During the test, a 4.8-ton dummy crew capsule was airlifted by an Indian Air Force helicopter to an altitude of about 3 km and then released. The parachute system was deployed step by step, ensuring the capsule landed safely in the sea . This test was crucial to validate the safety system for future astronauts who will travel aboard Gaganyaan. The mission was a joint effort by *ISRO, the Indian Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, and DRDO – marking a significant step towards India’s first human spaceflight program.
