On Friday Sept. 30, Canvas Stadium welcomed the four main Fort Collins Area high schools, Poudre, Fossil Ridge, Rocky Mountain, and Fort Collins for the inaugural Canvas Community Classic. The second matchup of the evening saw the Fossil Ridge Sabercats take on cross-town rival, the Fort Collins Lambkins in the annual battle for the Harmony Cup Trophy. The Sabercats got off to a strong start, getting up three touchdowns before the Lambkins would answer with a touchdown of their own in the second quarter. The Sabercats kept that momentum throughout the game and led big at half, 33-7. The Sabercat's running back turned quarterback Colton Pawlak had six touchdowns of the seven Sabercats touchdowns, four on the ground and two through the air. For the Lambkins, quarterback Ez Campos found success in the second half as he found wide receiver Kelly Ray for a 70-yd touchdown pass and later found Alex Augustine for a 15-yd touchdown. The first half deficit proved too much however, and with the Sabercats adding two more touchdowns to the board after halftime, the Sabercats would go on to win 46-21.
