ABALADA (Rodrigo Botter Maio) feat. ERICH TIEFENTHALER (flute) - Serie PLAYING WITH THE SONGBOOK VOL. 1 Dear friends, I hope you are all doing well! Nice to be here posting my video Nr. 195 (wow!) of the serie MAKING MUSIC WITH MY FRIENDS, in the sub serie PLAYING WITH THE SONGBOOK and again featuring the great swiss flutist ERICH TIEFENTHALER! As I always say, as a composer, there is nothing nicer than listen to another musician playing one of my songs! After playing all my 3 Challenges and another song of the SONGBOOK vol. 1 called COMO NOS VELHOS TEMPOS, this time he recorded my Ballad ABALADA and it became very nice. Thanks for playing a Song of the Songbook Erich! I love this flute sound and the way you play :-) ABOUT THIS SONG: It is just a nice Jazz Ballad that I wrote many years ago. I made a little joke with the name of the song. It looks like A BALADA (the Ballad), but it is ABALADA, that would mean shaken or shocked in English). My friend from Canada LAURA CAVE wrote Lyrics for this with the title LOST IN YOU, in case some singers love the song and want to sing it with Lyrics :-) A LITTLE ABOUT US (I copied this part from the other videos): I confess that we don't know us very much; Although Switzerland is very small, he lives in other part of Switzerland than me and maybe also because we play the same instrument, we are almost never together in the same place. But I remember years ago that we met a couple of times maybe in Zurich. I saw him once playing a transcription of a jazz solo on Youtube and it was amazing. Than I decided to invite him to participate (like I invited other 200). I was so surprised when he sent me all 3 Challenges at the same time, wow! I love this, when someone tells me: I will do it and he really did it. And after that I asked him: would you like to play one song of the Songbook? He said yes and sent me two of them! So, I believe that my video followers are already familiar with his face and his playing. Thanks Erich! PS: It is easy to find the other 3 Challenges writing our names in the channel.
