Final Season of R46 Trains at Jamaica Yard & Last R46 Transfer to Coney Island Yard

Here are various videos taken on March 6, 2020 and May 11, 2020, featuring MTA NYC Subway Pullman Standard R46 trains running on the R, which is based out of Jamaica Yard. From their introduction in 1975 to early April 2020, many R46 trains were assigned to Jamaica Yard, where they ran on routes based out of the yard. However, because of the ongoing automation of the Queens Boulevard Line, the trains were gradually transferred to Coney Island Yard in exchange for R160 trains from that yard, which were retrofitted to be able to run under CBTC signaling on the Queens Boulevard Line. The videos of the R46 train on the R shown were taken a little over a month before the last such train ran on any line based out of Jamaica Yard (E/F/R), and the last video shows the last set of R46 cars to be transferred out of Jamaica Yard on May 11, 2020, marking the end of R46 trains at Jamaica Yard and in regular service on the Queens Boulevard Line (and by extension, the 6th Avenue Line and the southern portions of the Culver Line and the Brooklyn 4th Avenue Line).
