There's so much confusion surrounding gender in our culture today. What does it mean to be a man or to be a woman? Are they equal? The same? If a woman has masculine qualities, does that make her a man? Is all masculinity “toxic”? We need clarity around these issues. Through our faith, we know that God created man and woman equal in dignity but different in our biology, with each possessing a particular “genius” that comes more naturally to each based on biology. Just as we need Mary to show us the perfection of femininity, we need St. Joseph to teach us what “non-toxic” healthy masculinity looks like. This video takes a deeper look at what’s meant by the term “genius” and how it can be seen in and through our biology while also highlighting seven masculine qualities of St. Joseph that exemplify healthy masculinity (and how his example can help to heal our own wounds from toxic masculinity).
