The vast majority of humans who ever lived get locked up into the pit of hell forever, with no chance of redemption. This is the story Evangelical Christianity offers, and I'm told by loved ones that I need to just have faith that it's true! But this is a huge distortion of the term faith. The problem isn't that I'm lacking in faith. The problem is that the belief system they are offering is morally reprehensible, and unsupported by the evidence. Yet we are supposed to forego preparations for any alternative outcome, in order to prove loyalty to their God.
