Slicing Ultra Thin Veneers with the Accu-Slice System (70)

This video is designed to demonstrate the ability of the Accu-Slice system to slice ultra thin wood veneers on the band saw. It will demonstrate the accuracy of the system as well as the repeatability of cutting multiple boards of the same thickness. Thin veneers down to 0.005" thick were sliced from wood boards that were 36" long by 2" wide. The sliced boards exhibited perfectly parallel surfaces with an accuracy of +/- 0.001" over the entire length and width of the sliced board. Multiple boards cut to the same dimension exhibited a error of better than +/- 0.002" between the multiple cut boards. Due to the boards being sliced on the Accu-Slice system with its linear rail and fence, no blade drift or lateral movement of the wood being cut was observed. This results in perfectly straight, flat and ultra thin boards being cut on the band saw.
