Bain retrial hears more claims Laniet was molested A pimp was threatening to expose Laniet's work as a prostitute to her family, the Bain retrial heard today. The man is the latest in a series of defence witnesses who have spoken about Laniet working as a hooker and of her claims her father molested her. Another defence witness took the stand with a story of Laniet confessing to being a prostitute. The man, whose name has been suppressed, lived in the same Dunedin boarding house, and says Laniet confided a disturbing story to him. She explained to me what she was doing. She complained about life at the Bain household, and how David was Robin's favourite. She said he was doing things that weren't appropriate, he says of what was happening between Laniet and her father.
