Servicing an Outboard That Hasn't Run in Years

This documents the first steps in restarting the motor which had not been run in about 4 years. First We did a visual inspection for leaks cracked wiring any obvious problems. Then we changed the spark plugs drained the gas tank checked the gear box oil. The main service we did though was to replace the impeller which we found out had a broken fin. as we were replacing the lower unit we had trouble aligning the drive shaft and broke a bracket.
