Emergency Food Supply - Short Term & Long Term - Canned & Frozen - How to Manage

Can foods are great for emergency storage! I go over how to manage a short term and long term food supply, including using a freezer as a short term and long term storage. This video is meant for people who live in a city, especially in a home or apartment with not much storage room. If you live in a more rural area, I would probably store a lot more food and water. The long term frozen meat storage is replaced when we defrost the freezer every 6 to 8 months or so. I go through my flour really fast because I maintain a sourdough starter and bake a lot of bread. When I bring the flour home from the store, I put it in a zip lock bag and freeze it for 4 to 7 days, until I have time to vacuum seal the flour that I plan to store in the freezer long term. I will remove the flour from the freezer that I plan to use and put it in plastic air tight containers. The flour you see in the video was just to show how much flour I typically store away. In fact, I had just bought it a few days earlier.
