SOUNDBITE (English) Jim Carnie, pilgrim from New York City "This is the place where Jesus is in his tomb, this is the place, a magnet of the world. This one little place, Jerusalem, where everything is happening, all religions are here, all things are here, it's like a magnet for the world. This one little powerful little place. We're waiting here now for Easter. This is the time when we saw the rising of Christ. And the power of this place, to be here, it has to be experienced." 12. Wide entrance to Holy Sepulchre 13. Wide Holy Sepulchre compound STORYLINE Hundreds of Catholic worshippers and pilgrims from all over the world attended Easter Vigil at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem on Saturday. Led by friars of the Franciscan order, the Easter Vigil procession entered the Church of the Holy Sepulchre where Christians believe Jesus was crucified and buried. Easter Vigil is held one day before Easter Sunday, which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion and death on the cross the previous day. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre has been an important pilgrimage destination since the 4th century and is the holiest Christian location in the world. Pilgrims and tourists are flocking to Jerusalem these days to celebrate Easter in the Holy Land. Jim Carnie, a visitor from New York City, marvelled at the "power of this place", referring to the Holy Sepulchre, saying that it has a magnetic power that "has to be experienced". Greek Orthodox Christians will celebrate Easter next week.
