Creator Video Editing PC Build for 4K H.265 4:2:2 in DaVinci Resolve – Ryzen 9 9900X & RTX 5070 Ti

This video takes you through the journey of building a custom PC in 2025, purpose-built for proxy-free 4K H.265 4:2:2 video editing with smooth 24 FPS playback even with heavy color grading, effects, and titles enabled in DaVinci Resolve. I walk through every stage of the process, from why I work with the H.265 codec in the first place, to choosing between Mac or PC, deciding whether to build the system myself or go pre-built, and ultimately the reasoning & research behind each individual selected component. Along the way, I also share the various challenges and issues I encountered and how I overcame them. As someone coming from an aging machine that could no longer keep up with modern editing demands, I understand how overwhelming and confusing entering the current PC market in 2025 can be. My goal with this video is to offer a real-world resource that gives you clarity and confidence as you explore your own video editing PC build. I also show how this system performs in real-world DaVinci Resolve use cases. I truly hope that this video helps you and if you’re in the same position as I was with your current computer, or maybe you have any questions at all about the build or the components, I’d absolutely love to hear from you down in the comments below.
