Baroque Flamenco meets La La Land - Harp Arrangement by Viviane Nüscheler

During my studies it was really hard to invest some time in covering and arranging. Since last year I took some improvisation classes to change that and find some time for popular and jazz music besides my classical education. I worked with the piano improvisation teacher André Desponds on my new arrangement „Baroque Flamenco meets La La Land“. The arrangement combines three totally different music pieces. The first one is the "Baroque Flamenco" of Deborah Henson-Conant, which I love to play since many years because it never gets boring to play and to listen to. The other main theme is taken from the movie "La La Land" and is called "Mia and Sebastians Theme". When I first saw the movie I realised that the music has a very important role throughout the whole story. Especially this theme didn't get out of my mind after hearing it for the first time. Last but not least I have chosen the big chords part at the end of Marcel Grandjany's Rhapsodie writen for the harp. During the last year I worked a lot on this piece which is a pleasure to play because of it's many different colors of sound and its good feel in a harpists hand. The Rhapsodie belongs to my classical education and with these three pieces I could combine many styles and the music I like to play. I'm really happy to present you "Baroque Flamenco meets La La Land“ which needed quite a lot of work. At this point I'd like to say a big thank you to Jakob Eisenbach who recorded and mixed my arrangement. Responsible for filming was Loris Costacurta. Thank you for that and everything else you've done for me! Also a big thank you to the great team of the „Klang-Maschinen Museum“ in Dürnten, who provided me with a great and perfectly matching location for the visuals of the La La Land parts.
