North Yorkshire Moors Railway - Annual Steam Gala - Saturday 29th September 2018

My first ever visit to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway was for the Annual Steam Gala. The theme of the event was Century, with resident Q6 No 63395 celebrating it's centenary year. Also in attendance was fellow centenarian 28XX No 2857 from the Severn Valley Railway, which had starred alongside the Q6 at the SVR gala just a week earlier. The event also marked 100 Years of the RAF, marked by the attendance of two further guests, Battle of Britain No 34081 '92 Squadron' from the Nene Valley, and RAF Blue liveried No 6 'Douglas' from the Talyllyn, which spent the entire event on a wagon as part of the goods train. The weather on the Saturday was blue sky for the most part, with a little bit of cloud throughout the day.
