The isolated U.S. town of Point Roberts is now pleading for help from Canada as its local economy continues to collapse. Separated from the rest of the United States and only accessible by land through Canada, Point Roberts has been hit hard by the ongoing tariffs, trade tensions, and the growing U.S. boycott led by Canadians. For decades, many British Columbians would visit the town to buy gas, groceries, and packages, helping sustain its economy. But since the Trump administration reignited border tensions, everything has changed. Canadian tourists have stopped crossing, and the community’s businesses are paying the price. In this video, I share my thoughts on whether or not Canada should step in and assist Point Roberts even more, or if we’ve already done more than enough. Canada continues to provide water, power, and emergency support to the town, while the U.S. government has done little to help its own citizens living there. Canadians no longer want to travel to the United States due to Donald Trump’s 51st state rhetoric and ongoing annexation threats. The U.S. tourism decline continues to worsen, and American media has failed to acknowledge the real reason behind it, Canadians are boycotting the U.S. over safety concerns, border security issues, and the behaviour of CBP and ICE agents. This is one of the biggest stories in Canada News and a sign of how the economy, tariffs, and politics are reshaping cross-border relations. The U.S. tourism collapse isn’t just a headline, it’s proof that people are losing trust in the United States. Guard The Leaf Social Links: Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/guardtheleaf...
