Paharganj, New Delhi, India Paharganj is the area where I stayed whilst in Delhi. It is very interesting and a little bit crazy. As many people (Indians & westerners) will tell you, "Don't go to Paharganj!". As it has a reputation of being dangerous, full of pickpockets, touts and thieves. However, more recently people will tell you, "You must go to Paharganj, It is the real India!" and many will also tell you that it is now becoming Delhi's hipster centre. I thought that it was one of the best places in Delhi and very convenient to everything such as the New Delhi Railway Station and Metro. It definitely does not deserve the bad rap that it gets. I stayed at the Hotel City Star, Desh Bandhu Gupta Road, Pharganj, which I found very comfortable and had very helpful staff. I would highly recommend this hotel. I'll be posting many aspects of Delhi, as well as the parts of India that I visited in November 2024 including Sarnath, Varanasi, Agra, Haridwar and Rishikesh. Stay tuned!
