This is my lifestyle review of the Philips Evnia 49m2c8900 gaming monitor. Which is a 49-inch QD-OLED behemoth that sports some nifty features like a built in sniper scope option, Ambiglow backlighting, awesome colour representation and some serious specs too. It's a nice alternative to the Samsung Odyssey line-up and is reasonably priced to boot. I've been testing it out for a few weeks with a variety of games and use case scenarios so I can give you my thoughts. I played Cyberpunk 2077, Ready or Not, Escape from Tarkov, Need for Speed Unbound, Chivalry 2, Deathloop, Helldivers 2, Starfield, Robocop Rogue City and more. You'll see shots of these games in this video and more. Things I liked about this monitor include: Decent specs for the money including fast refresh rate and response time Built in settings like dark boost and sniper scope PBP settings for splitting the screen in two for 16:9 use cases Hefty speakers that are surprisingly loud and decent sounding Quality OLED panel with no issues 10bit colour and HDR settings make it vibrant but it also has lots of colour pre-sets for different uses Things I didn't like: Special features only work in standard mode, not PBP Adaptive sync leads to flicker Ambiglow is nowhere near as good as Ambilight OLED isn't as impressive as other models Disclosure: Shopping links within the description of this video generate a commission at no extra cost to you.
