Thanks to YouTuber frasz 012 for the request of this really great dance song! After his first #1 hit, "Fame", David Bowie began acting and continued on that path turning in impressive performances in "The Hunger", "Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence" and then played the "Elephant Man" on Broadway to rave reviews. During this era he spent less time recording, but managed to stay relevant with songs like "Ashes To Ashes", "Fashion", and "Under Pressure" a duet with Queen. His famous collaboration with Bing Crosby for "Peace On Earth/Little Drummer Boy" for Bing's TV Christmas special has become a perennial favorite. He also had a cameo in the Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Pfeiffer film "Into The Night" as an assassin. In early 1983, Bowie signed with EMI for 10 million bucks and got together with Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards of Chic to produce his biggest hits ever. "Let's Dance" was the first single issued on March 26, 1983 and it hit #1 on May 21st for one week. It then spent three weeks at #2 unable to dislodge Irene Cara's "Flashdance... What A Feeling". David felt that this album was his "most positive, emotional and uplifting album" he had done in a long time. His persona this time was a "nice, normal Bowie", Bowie the crooner. Two more hits followed from that LP, "China Girl" a #10 hit and "Modern Love" that peaked at #14. His career dimmed a bit after the #8 "Blue Jean" and the accompanying extended video was an excellent platform for him to display his new persona. In 1985, his collaboration with jazz legend Pat Metheny Group landed him a #32 pop hit.
