We will discuss this in the next 2 min. What is hypospadias and what is the treatment for this? At birth, the opening of the urine of some children is on the underside rather than the tip. So these are varying grades of hypospadias. Just below the glans or tip, in the middle of the penile shaft, or down. Hypospadias has different grades and variations. The more opening the urine goes down the more difficult the operation is. The operation is relatively simple, even if the opening is at the tip. I want to explain it in very simple words. The child can not able to urinate while standing he has to urinate sitting. As soon as the child starts going to school he starts feeling embarrassed. Secondly, If the opening comes more downwards, then he will have trouble in fatherhood because semen will not be able to deposit inside the vagina. In chordee, the penis usually curves downward. The urinary opening may be on the underside of the penis. Surgery can usually correct these things. In surgery, we first fix the chordee then we close the opening. Operation is very difficult, infect 90% of the time, the operation has to be done in two parts. Snodgrass operation is a single-stage operation. It can be done only in ideal circumstances like, where the skin is adequate, first-time operation and the opening is more on the tip. But generally, children come for the second time operation when their operation has failed. Hypospadias deformity either a single or a multi-staged repair is called Hypospadias cripples. Operation is too difficult so we do the two stages procedure. This technique is called the Bracka procedure. We do the second stage after 3 to 4 months of the first stage procedure. Hypospadias is 100% corrective. We can do the first operation after 2.5 years. Due to the operation being done at that time, the child will not feel embarrassed in school. There will be no problem even if the operation is delayed for 5 to 6 years. Even you can get done the operation in adulthood also. If you have got the operation done from somewhere please keep in mind that a two-stage operation should be done. Bracka procedure will correct your hypospadias problems. After the operation, we have to keep a fully scalable tube to keep the repair intact and save it from urine pressure. Because it takes time to heal. Healing is faster in young children as they grow older, healing becomes slow. So this is how I told you about the repair of the hypospadias.
