Bull's Bridge in Kent, CT

We visited Bull’s Bridge in Kent, Connecticut, on March 22, 2021. This lattice truss wooden bridge is still in service, conducting vehicles 109 feet across the Housatonic River to the New York side since 1842. (The first bridge at this site was built by Jacob and Isaac Bull in 1760. The current bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.) There are two pretty paths with lookouts here—and some very nice views from the windows on the bridge. Bull’s Bridge Cascade comes off the old power plant, and makes a beautiful rapids, so the sound of rushing water is everywhere.
