Ayrshire Classics Car Club at Millport Show. Drone footage by McKenzie / sky_high_clips_pics The day started well with everybody on time at B&Q, Stevenston. 7.30am on the dot we set off for Largs in convoy. It was a sight to behold in my rear view mirror. On arrival at the ferry port we were joined by the Bearsden massive in their immaculately prepared yank tanks. The majority of the crew made it across on two ferries with the stragglers following on a bit later. We had our usual pick at the Garrison and we set out our display with little or no room to spare (around 40 cars). This is one of our favourite events as we get a little boat trip, a great day out and a bonus fish supper to end the day. The cars on display from the Capri Club, Figaro Club, TR Club, LCCC, Greenock Cars, Morris Minor Club and many solo entries made for an interesting walk around the show. My favourites of the day was a lovely Mk1 Escort van, a DMC12, Citroen DS and a rather nice Humber but there was something for everyone. Our very own Colin Murray picked up the runner up award at the show and was narrowly beaten by a very nice Delorean. This is always a very well run show and as usual ACCC played our part with the biggest and best display. Not biased just fact. At around 4pm we disbanded and headed for the ferry back to Largs. We had a bit of a wait but with the views across the Firth of Clyde time passed quickly. As I said before it's the law that you must stop in Largs for a fish supper before heading home. Already looking forward to next year.
