United Airlines 737 last seasonal departure from Tampico,MX

United Airlines UA1148 departing Tampico, MX to Houston Bush Intercontinental. This is the last departure of a United narrow-body aircraft from Tampico as United introduced two daily flights to Tampico operated by United Express (Commute Air & Mesa Airlines). One flight will depart at noon (E175) to directly compete with the newly introduced American Airlines flight (E170) to Dallas, TX. The second flight will arrive in the evening with the old and very well-known E145. It will be interesting to see if United (formerly Continental Airlines) is able to maintain its strength in Tampico as they have been leading the US Market in the southeastern city for over 25 years. A few years ago, American attempted to compete with United but there was not much pax to Dallas,TX so they discontinued the flight. I will have to try American and, of course, share the experience with you all. Lastly, not a final goodbye for the United 737 as the airline is planning to bring it back in October once demand picks up for the holiday season. I wish they could bring the Airbus 319; I believe it will best fit the demand and offers a good flight experience. Anyways, please enjoy the roar of this 25-yr old beauty and stay tuned!
