‪@WaybackRewind‬I put two of JVC's 1999 Camcorders head to head, the GR-DV-M5 MiniDV versus the SXM-930 Compact Super VHS. Based on the specs alone the MiniDV should easily win this. What I didn't expect was the super VHS would develop a serious tracking problem, or a head clog or both. The middle segment was filmed last and shows the worst symptoms. Either way the MiniDV performed flawlessly and was digitally lossless transferred to the computer through the firewire. I fed the S-VHS-C into my Sony TRV-460 and converted it to DV to transfer it to the computer.
