Episode # 5322 BIG LITTLE LIE Original airdate: 2/21/54 A lonely little girl tells big, big lies in order to draw the attention of her career-minded mother, played by Loretta Young. But, Ellen’s single Mom pays her no mind - until she hears from her daughter’s schoolmates that Ellen’s older sister is going to marry the actor Robert Wagner. Problem is, Ellen is an only child! Beverly Washburn portrays the precocious Ellen, the first of several roles she took on in the Loretta Young series. She also appeared as Miss Young’s older daughter Vickie Massey in the 1962–1963 CBS family drama, The New Loretta Young Show. She was one of Miss Young’s favorite co-stars. She was also cast in the Leave It to Beaver episode entitled "Blind Date Committee" in October 1959, as well as many other television roles well into the 2000s. But Beverly is probably best known for her character Elizabeth in the 1967 horror classic Spider Baby with Lon Chaney Jr. Also featured in this program is Janette Noland, who was nominated for four television Emmy Awards over her career and is best known for her roles in the television series The Virginian (1962–1971) and Dirty Sally (1974); and in films such as Macbeth (1948) and as the voices of Ellie Mae and Widow Tweed in the animated Disney films, The Rescuers (1977) and The Fox and the Hound (1981) respectively. Nolan was married to actor John McIntire for over fifty years until his death in 1991. She passed away of a stroke at age 86 on June 5, 1998, and was buried in Eureka, Montana's Tobacco Valley Cemetery. Directed by Robert Florey Screenplay by Richard Morris from a story by Charles Bonner Cast: Loretta Young Beverly Washburn Jeanette Noland
