made by    / @jirxin   made private right around hitting 100k views, published August 10th 2010. i'm not too sure what happened to him or his channel, but recently (last month or so) all of his videos were made private. i really hope they're eventually public again, like many other people who have also appreciated their videos over the years do too. without a doubt, jirxin has produced and collaborated to make some of the most underrated (and hilarious) griefing videos of all time, and if this is his depature it's on the same level as whenever c0wless removed his vids/had his vids nuked off of youtube. i wouldn't even say this is his best video, but it has a special place in my heart. everyone has their own reasons for removing their videos or their channel entirely, life catches up to you, "i know now what i knew then but i didn't know then what i know now", the pushback you recieve from youtube's irresponsible automoderation, the way you are treated for spending hours and hours of pouring dedication to not yourself, but to those moments you got to enjoy with your friends and share for others to enjoy, suddenly removed without warning someday in the future to supposingly protect people. to their opposers, any griefing video's value comes not from the insight into raw human interaction, the humor in breaking a video game(that is taken oftenly too seriously), or the self reflection that can be achieved from it, but from a hyperfocus on schadenfreude, being its sole purpose - to mock, to ridicule, to ruin, to destroy. the irony only becomes greater as you see what small things people will become upset at. these videos are to me a case study of human empathy and theory of mind. nothing more has emphasized to me "you never know just how to look through other people's eyes" than the disconnect from reality experienced in witnessing the overreaction achieved from a loss of control in a situation that is otherwise entirely hilarious. if devs took griefing videos in scrutiny, they could have a better understanding of how to better protect people in their games. but that isn't the point at all i'm trying to make - this video, JIRXIN's other videos, are videos of a better, more simple time for many people. time capsules to the past that don't deserve to be wiped off the internet and from people's memories because they could "offend" someone. we should be able to continue to enjoy the memories of the past, and the new ones that were made in sharing these videos with other people. edit: in early January of 2024, i managed to find an archive of all his videos, which you can find at archive dot org slash download slash JIRXIN . i'm incredibly glad to have found them!
