Rosa, here's your video Ying Huang is a Chinese operatic soprano. She first came to international attention when she sang the title role in Frédéric Mitterrand's 1995 film adaptation of Madama Butterfly and went on to an international career both in opera and on the concert stage. Madame Butterfly is an opera in three acts (originally two acts) by Giacomo Puccini, with an Italian libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa. Puccini based his opera in part on the short story "Madame Butterfly" (1898) by John Luther Long, which was dramatized by David Belasco The story of Cho-Cho-San (Butterfly, Butterfly in Japanese) held in Nagasaki, around 1870. Benjamin Franklin Pinkerton, U.S. Navy officer in Nagasaki, has just made a great deal, not only buying a house on the hill overlooking the sea, but also takes away a Geisha, Cho-Cho-San, a girl 15 who will live with him. Cho-Cho-San loves Pinkerton, but he thinks, only in the day they will marry an American lady. In the family of Butterfly (Cho-Cho-San), his uncle, a Buddhist monk is opposed to this marriage of convenience between the American officer and her. She herself becomes the religion of Pinkerton, abdicating their ancestors. At the ceremony of marriage, his uncle, to learn of the resignation of the young to their traditions, cast a curse on the marriage.
