Welcome to my review of SHFiguarts Biorider [バイオライダー] from Kamen Rider BLACK RX [仮面ライダーBLACK RX]! Biorider is the third and final form of Kamen Rider BLACK RX. Naturally this was also the last figure to be released in the SHFiguarts line for BLACK RX. Figuarts Biorider comes with a few sets of extra hands as well as the glowing version of the Bioblade. Much like Roborider, there isn't a whole lot to Biorider. Kotaro did have the ability to take a liquid form as Biorider, but I can't picture this translating well to Figuarts. My problems with the figure are pretty much the opposite of Roborider. While it would have been nice to have a glowing version of the Vortech Shooter with Roborider, it would have been nice to have a regular version of the Bioblade with Biorider. The only time the Bioblade glowed is when he was doing his finisher, the rest of the time it was a regular blade. It's little weapon touches like this that Bandai glosses over with Figuarts. How expensive could it have been? It's not like they would have to cast a whole new weapon. Last time, in my Roborider review, I mentioned that Renewal RX was my favorite of the BLACK Figuarts while Roborider was my least favorite. This means there is a fight for second place between BLACK and Biorider. So who wins the second place spot for me? Biorider, actually. Probably not a popular decision, but I reckon if BLACK was made in 2014 rather than 2013 it would probably be a better figure. That's not to say it's bad...but more of a compliment to Bandai. Figuarts seem to be getting better every year. I'm very excited to see what 2015 brings, especially with my preorders of Blue Beet and Black Beet from B-Fighter as well as Juspion (which I have yet to review a toy from...even though I own exactly one).
