Repost from @tommyjohniii • If you choose easy make sure you invest that savings into something else growth oriented in life. Nothing wrong with easy, but it’s so you can spare energy and time to invest in other forms of struggle, stimulus failure or challenge. The human body is designed for trauma. If you try to have an easy, comfortable, safe life it will create traumas for you to grow through. It will attract them. So create them on your own. Then your relative level of tolerance will rise and you can sit calmly in the face of explosions and traumatic experiences. There’s a cost to always choosing ease. There’s a cost to always choosing struggle. Gonna have to find your recipe. Varies daily. Especially in the face of symptoms of healing and injuries. An easy food to digest so you can do more challenging work. An easy way to make dinner so you can spend time with kids or make love to your partner. An easy way to travel so you can challenge by carrying your bags and taking stairs and walking to the hotel. An easy day of no errands, no social engagements, no work so you can struggle with feelings thoughts emotions and belief patterns. An easy training session so you can invest in other elements of change training provides a foundation to learn within. In the flip side, switch out every ease for struggle and the same rule applies with picking ease. Picking safe. Picking comfortable. The door swings both ways. But very clear to illustrate using ease first because the tech and advancements of the world are seeking how to make everything easy. The antidote isn’t to only struggle or be disinclined and militant all the time. Gonna have to find your recipe. Changes daily. Changes with every symptom and injury. Never the same. The grind and play. There’s preparation and performance. There’s rigid and creativity. There’s consistency and fleeting. They all invest back into each other.
