Director of Rockhurst University Graduate Nursing Programs Dr. Barbara Ludwig and Associate Dean of Nursing/Chief Nursing Administrator Kristina Henry are joined by MSN Students Cathy Kerns, Emily Berendzen and Austin Dye, to share their goals, experiences and what students can expect from Rockhurst University’s Graduate Nursing programs. Rockhurst University's Online MSN and Post-Master's Certificate programs in Family Nurse Practitioner, Psych-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner specializations are designed for RNs with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) who are interested in providing care for patients of all ages. The program offers both part-time and full-time options, online coursework, one campus immersion, one virtual immersion, and hands-on clinicals, with full clinical placement services provided at no additional charge. To learn more, visit: https://onlinedegrees.rockhurst.edu/o... ------------ Barbara Ludwig: “The goal and vision was to expand our program to be able to meet students who may not have the opportunity to have schooling in their location.” Kristina Henry: “So then they can stay in their communities and make a difference and address health inequalities in rural areas.” Barbara Ludwig: “You're able to utilize and work through a program that has flexibility, autonomy, capability to really work around your schedule.” Cathy Kerns: “Rockhurst is very prestigious. They match you with your clinical sites. So that's something that took a lot of stress and pressure off of me.” Austin Dye: “Rockhurst has been very helpful. The fact that this is a complete online self-guided program, it allows me to work part time still and do full-time school. You can get all your assignments done from Sunday to Sunday in a week, and it's completely self-paced.” Emily Berendzen: “I love that I feel like my faculty members know who I am even with this online program. Everybody at Rockhurst, I think, wants all the students to succeed. Since I applied, there has been somebody helping me in each step of the process, whether that's getting enrolled in my first classes, checking in with us and helping me with what I need to do next, which I love.” Cathy Kerns: “The knowledge that you get, the experience that you get and the support that you get makes it worth it. The campus immersion has been a fantastic experience. I don't feel intimidated. I feel that I can admit, ‘I don't know,’ and they'll help me find that answer.” Austin Dye: “So what I like about the on-campus immersion is that it’s streamlined and guided for success.” Barbara Ludwig: “Rockhurst nursing means that they get the unique Jesuit perspective, but they also get the valuable and quality nursing education that comes with the diverse clinical settings, the diverse clinical partnerships that we have and our faculty.
