Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 Steam Train 2024

The Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 is the largest operational steam locomotives in the world. Since May of 2019, the locomotive has served as the Union Pacific Railroad's best and biggest public relations ambassador, traveling to points across the system for public display. In 2024, locomotive 4014 took to the rails once again, making two major excursions. The first excursion, called the Westward Bound Tour, traveled from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Roseville, California and return via the original Transcontinental Railroad. In this video, we will follow the Big Boy and its train on the first three days of the return trip. We begin in Roseville, traveling over Donner Pass and then across Nevada's Great Basin Desert to Elko.
