Kitsap Color Classic 2018

The Kitsap Color Classic is a Cascade Bicycle Club event that takes cyclists on a tour of the northern part of the Kitsap Peninsula with autumnal sights of Puget Sound, Hood Canal, Whidbey Island, and more while visiting cities like Kingston, Poulsbo, and Port Gamble. The ride offered 2 separate loops, the first being 25 miles and the second being 39 miles, but my friend and I decided to do both for a 57 mile ride (the loops overlap). It was challenging, but we were able to do it. My bike was loaded up with my things from having stayed at a motel in Lynnwood (near Edmonds), and, well, it never got any lighter on the ride! It did, however, come in handy when we had long downhills (gravity can be friendly sometimes). My legs started to get really tired, though, around the last 15 miles of the ride, but my friend waited for me at the top of each hill climb so we could continue the arduous journey. All in all, it was a fun ride in which I am glad to have participated, and I was able to witness some beautiful sights while riding in a new area. I can’t wait to go back there for another ride!
