उत्तर प्रदेश में प्रयागराज के जिस माफिया का खौफ था, जिसके डर में पुलिस भी पीड़ितों की उसके खिलाफ FIR दर्ज नहीं कर सकती थी, उस माफिया अतीक अहमद को मीडिया के कैमरों पर 15 अप्रैल को पुलिस कस्टडी में गोलियों से छलनी कर दिया गया। इस गोलीबारी और हत्याकांड में अतीक का भाई अशरफ भी ढेर हो गया। माफिया बंधुओं को गोली मारने वाले तीनों आरोपी तब से ही रैकी करके साजिश रच रहे थे जब अतीक को पहली बार गुजरात की साबरमती जेल से उमेश पाल हत्याकांड में सुनवाई के लिए प्रयागराज कोर्ट लाया गया था। ये तीनों शूटर, अरुण मौर्या, सनी पुराने, और लवलेश तिवारी ये तीनों ही पुराने अपराधी हैं। इनपर पहले से ही मामले दर्ज हैं। लेकिन इनमें से एक शूटर लवलेश तिवारी की 2018 की एक पोस्ट सोशल मीडिया पर तेजी से वायरल हो रही है। इस पोस्ट में जो तस्वीर लवलेश ने साझा की उसके कैप्शन में लिखा था, ”जिस दिन दिमाग खराब होगा उस दिन करूंगा सबका हिसाब” इस पोस्ट पर अब कई तरह के रिएक्शन सामने आ रहे हैं। The mafia of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, who was in awe, for fear of which even the police could not register an FIR against the victims, that mafia Atiq Ahmed was riddled with bullets in the police custody on April 15 on the cameras of the media.
