‘Quality use of medicines in people with diabetes’ This year’s National Medicines Symposium focuses on the quality use of medicines in people living with diabetes. Diabetes is one of the most prevalent and fastest growing chronic diseases in Australia. It is a complex disease that can lead to serious complications. Today, you will hear from leading clinicians, policymakers, researchers, and individuals with lived experience on how quality use of medicines, non-pharmacological care, and emerging technologies can improve diabetes outcomes. In this session, find out more about the considerations for safe and appropriate use of diabetes medicines, opportunities to improve diabetes care in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, the importance of an integrated model of care and practical approaches for managing diabetes medicines in primary care.
