The Gap 4WD Track | Remote Coastal Drive Near Peaceful Bay WA

In the final episode of our Albany and Denmark Western Australia mini-series, we take on a little-known 4WD track with almost no recent information and no real idea of what we are heading into. We set off along The Gap 4WD Track, a remote coastal track leading out toward the Southern Ocean near Peaceful Bay. With the last track update more than 12 months old and not all of our recovery gear on board, this was a decision that required careful judgement. Thankfully, the reward was worth it. The coastline that greets us is nothing short of breathtaking, with rugged cliffs, powerful ocean views, and that unmistakable feeling of remoteness that makes Western Australia so special. After the adventure, we slow things right down, heading back inland via dirt back roads to Duckett Mill Winery to stock up on some of Leisa’s favourite wines. The day winds down back at camp, but it becomes clear that Leisa is starting to feel unwell, bringing a very real and human end to the trip. This episode is a reminder that not every adventure finishes with a perfect sunset. Sometimes it is about listening to your body, adapting your plans, and knowing when to rest.
