Sunita Williams is not an Indian citizen, but she is of Indian descent. Her father, Dr. Deepak Pandya, is from Gujarat, India. He went to America for her higher education and he married Bonnie. She is from Slovenia which is in central Europe. Therefore Sunitha Indian-origin American. After staying 9 months in the ISS, yesterday they reached earth. Therefore, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a letter to Sunita Williams on X. In the letter, he said, on behalf of the people of India, I extend my best wishes to you. 1.4 billion Indians are always proud of your achievements. During my visits to the United States, whenever I met President Trump or President Biden, I inquired about your well-being. We eagerly look forward to welcoming you to India soon.
