Hoopoes on our south Thailand property

Hoopoes are a distinctive, colourful bird which is widespread in Europe, Asia, and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and Madagascar. Most European and north Asian birds migrate to the tropics in winter while African and south Asian populations are sedentary all year. The birds are fairly common here in south Thailand but also fairly shy, which means that opportunities to catch them on camera are fairly rare. The last two photos and the video clip at the end are of a hoopoe which somehow got into our shade house and was temporarily unable to find its way out again. On only one occasion, I saw a hoopoe when I was a child growing up in Switzerland where the birds are known as Wiedehopf.
