Prior to the wedding ceremony the bride and groom each sat in separate circles (tisches) with their family and friends, giving and receiving blessings, well wishes, wisdom, and support. Each tisch paraded singing an exuberant “Od Yishama” accompanied by half the band. The energy built as the community, musicians, and the couple coalesced for the bedeken.
