Making a Stool for a Japanese Room (Prototype)

I might be moving into a traditional Japanese house soon, so I designed this stool for quietly sitting and thinking in a tatami room. (The move hasn’t happened yet, so there’s no actual Japanese room at the moment.) The silhouette is made up of simple vertical and horizontal lines, inspired by traditional Japanese joinery and meant to blend naturally into a washitsu (Japanese-style room). For the stretcher, I used copper instead of brass—copper is also used in the rooftops of temples and shrines. This is just a prototype.
